Technical data and product verificationThe technical data for the Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball model ELB01 (6 inch) has been verified by BSI Group. Verification has been undertaken against Technical File BSI-AUST-0001 # 10062020 by the Australian Distributor and Technical File ELIDETC6210001 Version 1.0 – VC 719331 dated 15 Oct 2019 by the Manufacturer. Reference: Certificate Numbers VC 728757 and VC 719331.  

Testing and verification of technical details and performance has also been conducted by entities a part of / affiliated with the Bureau Veritas Group and TÜV SÜD Group.

Device models ELB02-1 and ELB02-1 (4 Inch) use a substantially similar design, except on a smaller scale.
Extinguishing powderThe manufacturer advises that fire extinguishing powder used within the Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball devices has been tested against and complies with European EN 615:2009 “Fire protection – Fire extinguishing media – Specifications for powders (other than class D powders)”. Reference: Test Report 7191136740-CHM16-LSM  
Classes of fires  Under the standardized European classes of fires, the following classes are used:
Class A – Common Combustibles / Organic Solids
Class B – Flammable Liquids
Class C – Flammable Gases
Class D – Combustible Metals
Electrical – Electrical
Class F – Cooking Oils and Fats

The Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball is recommended by the manufacturer for the following classes of fire:
6 Inch Devices: A, B, C and Electrical fires (surveillance & protection); A class fires (active extinguishing).
4 Inch Devices: A, B, C and Electrical fires (surveillance & protection).

The manufacturer advises that fire extinguishing powder used within the Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball devices has been tested against and complies with European EN 615:2009 “Fire protection – Fire extinguishing media – Specifications for powders (other than class D powders)”. Reference: Test Report 7191136740-CHM16-LSM.

The manufacturer advises that Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball models ELB01 (6 inch), ELB02-1 (4 Inch Red) and ELB02-1 (4 Inch Blue) are certified against TIS 3413-2565 (2022) “Automatic fire fighting ball” by the Thai Minister of Industry / Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), which are based in their country of manufacture. The manufacturer advises this standard aligns with ISO-ICS.13.220.20.

The manufacturer advises that Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball model ELB01 (6 inch) has been previously certified against Turkish TSE K-39 “Fire extinguishing ball” by the Turkish Standards Institution (TSI). This standard aligns with the various European EN standards relating to traditional fire extinguishing devices.  It includes testing against A and B fires, and gives the manufacturer discretion for C, Electrical and F fires. Reference: License Number TSEK-31552.  

The manufacturer advises that the Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball device model ELB01 (6 inch) has been tested by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) and SABS identified that device would be suitable for A, B and C fires under their domestic SANS 6173:2003 standard.  Reference: Test Report FPE/84935/08.  

The manufacturer advises that Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball model ELB01 (6 inch) has been tested by the Institute of Firemen-Technicians and Professionals of the Slovakian Ministry of the Interior, and was found to be suitable for extinguishing A and B fires as defined in its report.  Reference: Protocol about Exam Nr. 33-A/OPV/2011 and Protocol about Exam Nr. 33-B/OPV/2011.

As device models ELB02-1 and ELB02-1 (4 Inch) use the same design, except on a smaller scale, we understand that these products also confirm with the EN 16263 standard.
As a complete fire extinguishing deviceAs Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball devices are not a pressurised vessel, do not require ongoing specialised serving, and are manufactured by a sole manufacturer under patent, no domestic standards exist.  Further, no clear universal international standards exist. However, the device is certified against and/or conforms with numerous international standards for traditional fire extinguishing devices and some country specific standards for fire extinguishing balls.

TIS 3413-2565 (2022): The manufacturer advises that Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball models ELB01 (6 inch), ELB02-1 (4 Inch Red) and ELB02-1 (4 Inch Blue) are certified against TIS 3413-2565 (2022) “Automatic fire fighting ball” by the Thai Minister of Industry / Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), which are based in their country of manufacture. The manufacturer advises this standard aligns with ISO-ICS.13.220.20.

TSE K-39:  The manufacturer advises that Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball model ELB01 (6 inch) has been previously certified against Turkish TSE K-39 “Fire extinguishing ball” by the Turkish Standards Institution (TSI). This standard aligns with the various European EN standards relating to traditional fire extinguishing devices.  It includes testing against A and B fires, and gives the manufacturer discretion for C, Electrical and F fires. Reference: License Number TSEK-31552.  

GOST R 54291-2009: The manufacturer advises that the Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball device model ELB01 (6 inch) has previously been certified against GOST R 53291-2009 by the Research Institute of Fire Defense of the Russian Federation within the Ministry for Emergency Situations (EMERCOM). That standard relates to “Portable and movable devices of fire extinguishing with high-velocity submission of fire quenching matter. General technical requirements. Test methods”. Reference: Fire Safety Certificate No. 1123164.

As device models ELB02-1 and ELB02-1 (4 Inch) use the same design, except on a smaller scale, we understand that these products also conform with the above standards.
Pyrotechnic componentThe manufacturer advises that the Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball device model ELB01 (6 inch) has previously been certified by KONŠTRUKTA-Defence, a.s. (Notify Body 1395) for compliance with with EN 16263 “Pyrotechnic articles. Other pyrotechnical articles”. This is a standard applying across Europe under Directive 2013/29/EU. The certificates issued apply without temporal limitation. Reference: Product Number PA 1395-0128/2010

As device models ELB02-1 and ELB02-1 (4 Inch) use the same design, except on a smaller scale, we understand that these products also conform with the EN 16263 standard.
Safety to humans and environmentThe manufacturer advises that the Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball device model ELB01 (6 inch) has been tested and is safe for humans and the environment by various entities globally.

As device models ELB02-1 and ELB02-1 (4 Inch) use the same design and materials, we understand these will be equally safe for humans and the environment.
Quality management systemThe manufacturer advises that, in respect of the manufacture and sale of Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball devices models ELB01 (6 inch), ELB02-1 (4 Inch Red) and ELB02-1 (4 Inch Blue), it is certified for compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems by TÜV SÜD. Reference: Certificate Registration Number TUV100 12 3529. Expiry: 8 July 2025.
